Real or Kiwi followers? An honest answer
People often search for “real” or “New Zealand” followers. We understand why. Here’s why we don’t claim either, and what a package actually changes on your profile.
What people hope for
When someone in New Zealand searches for real followers, they usually mean people in their area who will look at posts, react, and maybe become customers. That’s a reasonable thing to want. It just isn’t something a follower package can deliver, from us or anyone else.
Why we don’t promise “real”
Real people choose who to follow. Nobody can sell you their decision. A follower package works by adding accounts to your follower list, and those accounts don’t come with an interest in your bakery or your band. Some may look like ordinary profiles, some won’t. We don’t describe them as real, active or high-quality, because we can’t stand behind those words.
Why we don’t promise “Kiwi”
We can’t choose which country the accounts come from, so we don’t sell NZ-only followers. Any offer of guaranteed local followers deserves a hard look: with a population of around five million, there simply isn’t a pool of New Zealanders waiting to follow strangers on demand.
Watch out for “targeted” claims
Some sellers offer followers targeted by country, gender or interest. Ask yourself how that could actually be done without the people involved choosing to follow you. If a claim can’t be checked before you pay, treat it as marketing rather than a feature.
What a package does change
- The number on your profile, which affects first impressions.
- How established a new page looks when someone checks it after a recommendation.
- How a pitch or media kit reads at a glance, though anyone careful will check engagement too.
What it doesn’t change
- Comments, saves, shares and DMs.
- Sales, bookings and foot traffic.
- How far each post travels, which depends on how actual viewers respond. See how Instagram ranks posts.
Getting genuinely local followers
The only way to win followers in your town is to give people a reason. Tag your suburb, collaborate with neighbouring businesses, show up in local groups and events, and post at times that suit New Zealanders. Our growth plan for NZ accounts and the city guides for Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch go through it.
