Cheap followers: what you really get
The internet is full of offers for thousands of followers at pocket-money prices. Here’s how to tell what you’re actually buying, and where the hidden costs show up.
The headline price is only half the story
A follower package isn’t a product you can inspect before paying. What matters is what happens over the next few weeks: how the followers arrive, how many stick, and whether anyone answers when they don’t. Very low prices usually mean one of those things has been cut.
Where cheap offers cut corners
- Instant dumps. Thousands of followers in a few minutes create a sharp spike that platforms are good at noticing.
- High drop-off. If most followers are removed within days, the price per follower that actually stays is far higher than it looked.
- No top-up. When the count falls, you’re on your own.
- No contact. No email, or an address that never replies.
- Password requests. Any service asking for your login is a hard no.
Working out the real cost
Say a deal offers 1,000 followers for US$2.00, but half disappear within a fortnight and there’s no top-up. You’ve paid US$2.00 for 500, and taken on the spike. Compare that with a package that costs more up front but is paced, topped up for 30 days, and backed by someone who answers email.
What we do for the price
Our 1,000 Instagram followers cost US$13.99, about NZ$24 at a typical exchange rate. That includes paced delivery in batches, a free top-up for 30 days after delivery, a refund for anything we can’t deliver, and email support. We don’t claim the followers are real or local; see real or Kiwi followers, explained.
Quality claims to be wary of
“High quality”, “premium”, “real active users” and “100% safe” are the most common phrases in this market. None can be checked before you buy, and the last one is impossible: the platforms’ own rules prohibit buying followers. Read the risks, honestly before you trust any guarantee.
A sensible approach
- Start with a small package and watch how it behaves.
- Keep the size in proportion to your account.
- Choose a seller with a clear refund and top-up policy.
- Never share a password.
